Students of St. John Central Academy, in Bellaire, gather outdoors and wave flags in support and in memory of a local firefighter and paramedic who died in an accident in Pennsylvania last weekend. Funeral services for Richard “Rick” St. John were held Thursday and included a procession of first responders throughout some of the Belmont County communities he served as a professional and volunteer fire department member. St. John’s children once attended St. John Central schools, the academy’s predecessor.
