Volunteer Tom Buckley stands ready to greet visitors to the Underground Railroad Museum in Flushing on Monday, which was Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Aside from its collections regarding the slave trade of the 18th and 19th centuries, the museum also features a variety of information on numerous aspects of African-American history, including the Civil Rights Movement and King. In addition, special programming offered to guests Monday included a group from Northwood Health Systems in Wheeling. The museum will host Black History Month activities on Feb. 1.
