MARTINS FERRY — The Martins Ferry Knights of Columbus is holding its annual Easter Flower Sale.

The sale is located outside of Ferry Hardware at 6 S. Zane Highway. The flower sale will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Volunteer Kim Tierney stressed that they usually sell out before Saturday, so she urged people to make sure to arrive early. Among the flowers for sale will be daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, lilies, and azaleas. The lilies and azaleas will be sold for $20 each, while the rest will be sold for $12 each.

The Knights of Columbus has been doing this annual sale for over 25 years.

“I have been doing this for quite some time and every year we usually always sell out,” Tierney said.

Kim and Kevin Tierney, who are longtime volunteers for the Knights for the annual flower sale, said that they are members of St. Mary Church and that the Knights of Columbus is always looking for volunteers to help. The Tireneys first got involved with volunteering for the sale due to being neighbors and friends with K of C member Bruce Tratar.

“Kim and Kevin are the Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor of this flower sale,” Tratar said while talking about how helpful they are with volunteering their time.

The Knights of Columbus will also be holding a fish fry from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the council home, 25 N. Fourth St., Martins Ferry.
