WOODSFIELD — Monroe County Sheriff Charles R. Black Jr. is warning residents that illegal drugs in the form of chocolate bars could be circulating in the community after two Lewisville residents were arrested on Monday.

According to information released by Black on social media, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was alerted Monday to two illegal packages that had been intercepted during a UPS shipment out of Marietta, Ohio. An initial investigation by agents with the Southeast Major Crimes Task Force discovered that the packages contained $4,100 in cash as well as apparent psilocybin mushrooms, which were in two separate forms. Additional investigation by the agents in conjunction with detectives with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office traced the packages back to the residence of Adam and Sunessa Tollie, 44907 State Route 145, Lewisville.

Detectives later made a positive identification of Adam Tollie via video surveillance that showed him dropping off the intercepted packages at the UPS location. In addition, evidence gathered during the investigation allegedly showed that Adam Tolley has been shipping packages to various states on numerous occasions. Black’s posts states that Adam Tolley attempted to do this in a covert manner by utilizing different aliases.

A warrant was obtained to search the Tollie residence. During the search, conducted at about 4:40 p.m. Monday, detectives and deputies reportedly located “an abundance of items consistent with the trafficking of controlled substances within the Tollie home.” Seized items include, but are not limited to, various controlled substances, digital scales and tools utilized in the processing of these substances, according to Black.

“Additionally, packaging matching the specific contents of a portion of the intercepted items in Marietta was also located within the home,” Black wrote. “Furthermore, as a result of prior criminal convictions, Adam was not able to legally possess firearms, however, a total of three firearms were located within the Tollie home, and were found to be in accessible locations.”

Black states that a total of approximately 1.3 pounds of dried psilocybin mushrooms were recovered along with 10.7 pounds of various forms of marijuana/THC, three firearms and numerous other items consistent with trafficking of controlled substances were found within the home.

Adam R. Tollie, 44, and Sunessa D. Tollie, 43, were arrested Monday and taken to the Monroe County Jail. No information was available Tuesday regarding what specific crime either was charged with upon arrest.

Because items seized in the case include self-manufactured psilocybin chocolate bars, Black is warning the public to be alert for those items. If any adult or child has come in contact with such items, Black asks that they call the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office at 740-472-1612.

Black noted that the case has been submitted to the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
