Martins Ferry Police Announce Drug Arrests
Three men were arrested earlier this week after Martins Ferry police officers found drugs in their vehicle.
According to information from the department, late Tuesday, officers conducted a traffic stop on the south end of the city for a vehicle displaying expired registration.
During the course of the stop, the vehicle’s driver provided verbal consent for officers to conduct a search. Upon further investigation, officers located multiple suspected narcotics inside the vehicle. As a result, three male suspects were taken into custody.
Suspect 1, from Tiltonsville, Ohio, was charged with:
• Trafficking in Drugs (x3)
• Possession of Drugs (x3)
• Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a Valid License
• Failure to Register Expired Tags
Suspect 2, from Columbus, Ohio, was charged with:
• Possession of Drugs
Suspect 3, from Columbus, Ohio, was charged with:
• Obstructing Justice
All three individuals were transported to the Belmont County Jail without incident.
The suspected narcotics seized from the vehicle included:
• Approximately 15 grams of suspected crack cocaine
• Approximately 7 grams of suspected methamphetamine
• Approximately 3 grams of suspected fentanyl
