BERNICE COEN MALONEY

Bernice Jeffers Coen Maloney, 89, of St. Clairsville, formerly of Glencoe, Ohio, entered into her eternal rest on September 9, 2020, at Wheeling Hospital.

She was born January 26, 1931 in Glencoe, Ohio, a daughter of the late Everett and Lusty Rowand Jeffers.

Bernice was a retired employee of Riesbeck’s and had worked for the Belmont County Committee on Aging. She was a member of the Harbor of Hope Church in St. Clairsville and had volunteered at East Ohio Regional Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Coen; her second husband, Thomas Maloney; sons, John C., and Paul Coen; one great grandson; two step grandchildren; and her brothers, Sias, Philip, Harry, Sanford and Charles Jeffers; and sisters, Louise Drennan, Gladys May, Helen Vrotsos, Nancy Pyle and Marguerite Day.

Surviving are her daughter, Edith (Dan) Williams; son James Thomas (Stephanie) Coen; stepdaughter, Lois (Russ) Burger; grandchildren, Christy Williams, Eric (Bonnie) Williams, Randi (Jay) Coen Gilbert, Joshua (Heather) Coen, Paul Coen, Nadene Sterling, Zarek and Izac Wiley; 12 great grandchildren; step grandchildren; and several step great grandchildren.

She will be laid to rest in Glencoe Cemetery. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there will be social distancing and facial coverings required for a graveside visitation and service at Glencoe Cemetery on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from 11a.m. until time of service at 11:30 am. with Pastor Dean Myers officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
