EDITH MENEDIS
Edith Menedis, 96, of St. Clairsville, OH passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Park Health Center under Amedysis Hospice. She was born December 18, 1924 in Steubenville, OH a daughter of the late John and Aspasia Makras Stakias.
Edith was a former employee of LS Good & Co. and retired from the former Hornes of Wheeling.
Edith was an active member of Zoodochos Peghe and loved spending time with her growing family. She loved Word Search puzzles and Needlepoint.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Menedis in 1984; a sister and brother in law, Cally and Tony Kardules; a daughter-in-law, Janie Sandru Menedis.
Surviving are her children, Nicholas (Sandra) Menedis of Reynoldsburg, OH., Gregory (Vickie) Menedis of Pataskala, OH., and JoAnn (Nicholas) Voyiatt of St. Clairsville; a sister, Thalia Giannaris of Springfield, OH; grandchildren, Jenifer (Dwayne) Condon, Natalie (Brian) Stocker, Eleni Voyiatt, Sean (Cat) Dilley, Matt (Ashley) Dilley, Kristen (Jude) Schramm, Mellissa (Tony) Bausch, David Sutton; 16 greatgrandchildren.
Friends received on Thursday from 5-8 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville with Trisagion services at 6:30 pm. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:30 am at Greek Orthodox Church of the Life-Giving Fountain 314 North 5th Street Martins Ferry, OH 43935 with Fr. Michael Ziebarth officiating. Burial will follow in Upland Heights Cemetery, Yorkville, OH.
