Elmer J. “Pete” Wilson, 79 passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at the Wheeling Hospital. He was born February 26, 1943, the son of the late Donald V. and Gertrude (Jones) Wilson. Pete was retired after 35 years of service from the Ormet Company as a crane operator. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving 2 years in France. Pete loved cheering on the Purple Riders and Ohio State Buckeyes and was a diehard fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns. John J. Spiga, Jr., 73, of Flushing, died Tuesday, October 4, 2022 in WVU Wheeling Hospital. He was born in Martins Ferry on July 22, 1949, a son of the late John J. Spiga, Sr and Agnes E. Pabin Spiga. A graduate of Seton Central High School, Lafferty and a Union Township Trustee, John was a coal miner for many years and worked his family farm.
