John J. Spiga, Jr., 73, of Flushing, died Tuesday, October 4, 2022 in WVU Wheeling Hospital. He was born in Martins Ferry on July 22, 1949, a son of the late John J. Spiga, Sr and Agnes E. Pabin Spiga. A graduate of Seton Central High School, Lafferty and a Union Township Trustee, John was a coal miner for many years and worked his family farm. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Cadiz. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were two brothers, Mark S. Spiga and James A. Spiga. She was born August 19, 1935, at Pipe Creek, Ohio, a daughter of the late Ralph William Palmer and Edna May Palmer. Ethel was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a retired employee of the Harts Family Center in Lansing, had worked at the House of Hearts in St. Clairsville, and was a Licensed Practical Nurse.
