Buckeye Local

Dear Editor,

The Buckeye Local School District held its third annual Back to School Bash on Aug. 8, 2010. Once again more than 1,200 people attended the event and approximately 600 children received back to school supplies, nutritional snacks and treats.

A 2010-11 Kick Off Tent with food, a kick-off gift and prizes was set up for faculty, staff and school board members. Games, music and treats were provided by DJ Anthony Bailey of Movin’ and Groovin’ entertaining all in attendance. Vendor booths were set up with valuable information for parents and students. “Panther” items, lemonade and baked goods were for sale by the BL athletic groups, the band and cheerleaders.

The Buckeye Local Relay for Life Team provided food items for sale as part of their annual fundraiser. Fall sports programs were recognized. A special recognition was given to our graduates serving in the military. WTOV 9 filmed much of the event and interviewed people in attendance.

Due to the generosity of numerous businesses, school and community members, the Bash, was once again a huge success.

We would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank those who helped in any way. The following agencies, businesses and community members supported our event and we are very grateful:
