Creek Dredging

Dear Editor

I understand The Corps of Engineers do not want to dredge the creeks because the material is just pushed to the banks.

Over time the gravel and earth erodes back into the channel.

Can the material be used to fill in the septic tanks when the sewage project is completed in Neffs?

Can the foundations of delapidated homes the cities are destroying be filled with the debris?

The gravel and dirt is removed completely from the creek and flooding should be eased.

The cost to the homeowner should be lessened because they would not have to pay for gravel.

The removal should be where the creeks run through the most populated areas and stockpiled for local contractors to use for these projects.

I know these may be simplistic ideas and they may not work.

They are called The Corps of Engineers for a reason.

Lets find uses for creek gravel so the channels are deeper and flooding will be mitigated.
