Women Helping Women

Dear Editor, On June 21st at the Crispin Golf Center, there didn’t seem to be a COVID pandemic, nor a war in Ukraine, a recession pending, or any sign of racism and unrest. There were 106 women, mostly over the age of 60 (some in their 80s and 90s), who’s only real interest was food, fun and friends — along with air conditioning, a drink and dessert. Dear Editor, With the recent mass shootings in Uvalde, Texas, how quickly President Biden and the Democrats began politicizing this tragedy in order to push for more “Gun Control Laws.” You hear absolutely no discussion or any legislation on fixing mental health issues facing our country today or even examining the relationship between mental illness and gun violence. Shouldn’t this be a priority as mass shootings continue to occur with frightening regularity with the latest shooting in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Wednesday, June 1? Dear Editor, “Constitutional Carry” — don’t be your own worst enemy. What is certain is Ohio has passed what’s being called “Constitutional Carry” legislation — signed into law by Gov. Mike DeWine. Beginning on June 13 law-abiding citizens will no longer need a permit — or pack a license to carry a concealed weapon. Dear Editor, With the primary election just concluded in Ohio, voters need to turn their attention to the General election on November 8, 2022. A good place to start is withTaylor Sappington, Democratic candidate for state auditor. Sappington is from Nelsonville in southeastern Ohio where he currently serves as City Auditor. Dear Editor, The Second Amendment has been under fire by some politicians for decades because they want to demolish the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Please understand that if one right is lost the others will be lost.
