Grateful Bulldogs express thanks

Dear Editor, Several weeks ago, Bridgeport High school staff organized a career day for students 9-12. At this event, students had the opportunity to choose from over 55 speakers and careers. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the professionals who took time away from their careers and participated in the event. I know that the students were very appreciative and enjoyed hearing from the various speakers. Thank you to the following: Adam Myser, Lawyer from Myser and Myser Attorneys at Law; Jeff Gazdik, EMS/Fire from Wheeling Hospital; Ethan Kozel, ...

Palestinian Uprising

Dear Editor, As long as I have understood Middle East history I have been perplexed by the Israeli mistreatment of the Palestinians, living in Israel and Palestine Jews suffered the most horrific crime in history; so why is the Israeli (Bibi Netanyahu’s) government being so cruel to the Palestinians, their neighbors? Human Rights Watch wrote that Israeli “authorities have dispossessed, confined, forcibly separated and subjugated Palestinians by virtue of their identity to varying degrees of intensity.” This led HRW to unequivocally conclude that “these deprivations are so ...

Ignorance is our real problem

Dear Editor, I’ve spoken to a number of Times Leader subscribers who are disappointed with the Opinion Page. I’m OK, as I choose to read most all and appreciate the few conservatives published. I also appreciate when my “Letter” gets ink. Re: (subject) Ignorance. The often published letters sent by just a few people are not representative of majority of this circulation (in my opinion). So, I submit rebuttal to this past Mother’s Day weekend issue. First, “Racism.” Police don’t need fixed … society does. If a cop asks you to “Dance!” don’t try to run ...

Corporate Control

Dear Editor, A few weeks ago, more than 100 leaders from international corporate interests gathered on a Zoom call to do one specific thing: Coordinate their political activities in a manner that will prevent GOP-dominated legislatures in states like Georgia from passing laws designed to head off massive voter fraud. Simply put, this is about the desires of global business stopping conservatives and populists from being elected. The fact that they are headquartered in this country is not a sign of any loyalty to this country or its form of government. If anything, many of these ...

Letter re: Biden and the Environment

Dear Editor, Bill Bryant’s May 8 letter, “Biden is saving our environment, is misleading. That’s because the president’s irresponsible immigration policy undermines his environmental policies and goals. His proposed U.S. Citizenship Act would result in the largest immigration expansion in U.S. history. The bill would result in 37 million green cards issued to new immigrants over the first decade — nearly 4 times the number from any other decade. You can see here what this bill would do: ...

Are we destroying ourselves?

Dear Editor, “Land of the free, because of the brave?” Every time I return home from Barnesville to Bethesda I see this very large sign on the side of a local barn. American’s freedoms came at a very high price and we should never forget that thousands upon thousands of brave men and women fought and died, and thousands that are still dying protecting us. But it seems as though little by little, our freedoms are being chipped away until we’ll have none, and the federal government will have full control of our lives. You have to realize by now that our free speech is already ...
