OFF THE TEE: OV Seniors Tourney slated for Monday at BHCC
The Ohio Valley Seniors Golf Association is set to crown its champion.
No fewer than 75 players will be on hand at Belmont Hills Country Club Monday afternoon to take part in the event, which brings together players from Belmont Hills, Wheeling, Steubenville, Cadiz, East Liverpool and Williams Country Clubs.
The event will tee off with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. with players ages 50 and older taking part.
There are six age groups that will crown a champion in medal and handicap scoring.
The age groups are 50-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-80 and 80 and over.
The event is organized and ran by Phil Pata, who has been a member of Belmont Hills CC for 38 years. On top of the work involved with hosting the event, he’ll also be playing in the tournament once again.
Along with the individual winners, there will be a trophy presented to the low scores from the respective clubs as a team-type of competition.
Dinner is slated for approximately 6 p.m. and presentation of awards will follow.
