PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

The final major of the season unfolds this week at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin. The site of three previous major championships, the course is a links style course that measures more than 7,200 yards and plays Par 72.

Rory McIlroy is the defending PGA champion, but he’s been on the shelf since late June, recovering from an injury. He played a few practice rounds at Whistling Straits this week and is expecting to compete.

However, he won’t be my pick. I simply think he’s been out too long and will need a few weeks to shake off the rust. Plus, though he’s cleared medically, there could still be some lingering effects to his game.

I am not picking Tiger Woods to win, but I think he will be around for the weekend.

As for my pick, I am going with Luke Donald. I think he will claim his first major championship victory when the dust settles on Sunday evening.
