Bellaire girls defeat River

BELLAIRE — A battle between state-ranked teams and OVAC division leaders lived up the hype, with Bellaire pulling out a narrow 58-52 victory against River on Saturday.

Michaela Flaherty led a balanced Big Reds attack with 16 points. Natalie Stoner drained five 3-pointers on her way to 15 points. Kat Davis added 12 and Maci Crozier scored 10.

Alli Long paced the Pilots with 24 points. Senior standout Lauren Flannery scored 16.

Monroe Central 70, Bridgeport 41

BRIDGEPORT — Kalista Friday scored 18 and Amy Bettinger netted 14 as Monroe Central jumped out to a 30-15 halftime lead and never looked back in a rout of Bridgeport.

Angela Sommer, fresh off an impressive performance Friday, had 14 points to pace the Bulldogs. Jaren Tucker added 11.

St. Clairsville 51, Steubenville 45

STEUBENVILLE — Macy Malin netted a game-high 21 points as St. Clairsville drained seven 3-pointers on the way to beating Steubenville.

Maria Vincenzo added 14 for the Red Devils (10-5).

Makayla Abram collected a team-high 14 points for Big Red (8-6), while Leah Ferguson and Madison Fields both finished with eight.
