Volleyball Roundup: Beallsville falls in 1A semifinals

PADEN CITY – Ashlie Louden had 13 assists, but it wasn’t enough as Beallsville fell to Frontier in an OVAC Class 1A semifinal 25-19, 25-14, 8-25, 25-20.

Makenna Phillips added 10 kills for the Blue Devils.

Huskies Sweep Pair

Harrison Central picked up a pair of victories with sweeps of Steubenville Catholic and Edison.

The Huskies topped SCC 29-27, 25-20 and Edison 25-16, 25-23.

Against the Crusaders, Lexi Ferguson had 20 assists and nine digs, while McKayla Dunkle had 10 kills and six digs.

Versus the Wildcats, Ferguson collected 16 assists and 10 digs, and Kobey Johnson and Danyel Beadling had 12 and 10 digs, respectively.

St. John Tops Hundred

HUNDRED – Danni Yaegel had 12 points and seven aces helping St. John Central Academy best Hundred 25-12, 25-17, 25-19.

Jessika Henderson added nine points for the Irish, while Kyla Kull had eight assists.

Monroe sweeps tri

WOODSFIELD — Kalista Friday turned in 10 points and five aces as Monroe Central swept Barnesville and River in an OVAC Consolation tri-match.

Trista Morris delivered nine kills, 12 points and 16 digs in the victories.

Allison Bennett accumulated 36 assists and 22 digs as River defeated Barnesville but fell to Monroe Central.

Katie Straub turned in 14 points and Lacey Cordery tallied 28 digs for the Pilots.
