WHEELING — Shadyside bounced back from its first loss of the season by sweeping Linsly Saturday morning by scores of 25-18, 25-21 and 25-19.

The Tigers once again received a balanced effort on the stat sheet. Paige Gorby had 10 kills and 17 digs. Junior Gentry Brown had 15 kills and 10 digs. Caroline Mercer handed out 30 assists, had four aces and 13 digs. Macy Hendershot recorded seven kills. Bayleigh Harman had six digs and three kills.

Barnesville edges Buckeye Trail

BARNESVILLE — The Shamrocks picked up their fifth win in seven outings Saturday, outlasting Buckeye Trail in five sets. They had to rally from two sets down to accomplish it, too.

The Shamrock won by scores of 22-25, 18-25, 25-21, 25-20 and 19-17.

On the stat sheet, the Shamrocks were led by Halle Markovich, who had 20 kills, four blocks, 10 points and three aces. Kynlie Cline had 28 digs and four points. Marly Keyser had 10 points, three digs and an ace. Ava McFarland handed out 42 assists, five kills, scored 15 points and posted four digs.

Jalyn Skinner had 10 digs, while Darby Jones had eight and Blayne Carpenter posted four.

GIRLS SOCCER

St. Clairsville routs Indian Creek

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Red Devils picked up their sixth win of the season by dominating Indian Creek, 9-0 Saturday morning.

St. Clairsville (6-0-1) received a sterling performance from senior Anna Bodkin, who scored five goals. Gianna Nardo had two goals and a like number of assists, while Emily Thompson tallied a goal and two assists. Emaly Elerick had a goal.

Delaney Flornece had three assists. Gracie Gardner also had an assist. Rileigh Wood and Emily Mozena each had multiple saves in net.
