Week 8 Roundup: River slated to host Shenandoah

Six games are on tap as the high school football season reaches week 8. Four of those matchups are set for Friday at 7 p.m.

Highlighting the card is a matchup of highly ranked squads on the artificial surface at Martin Flannery Field in Hannibal where Shenandoah and River square off. The Zeps enter ranked No. 3 in Division VI, Region 23, while the Pilots are third in Division VII, Region 27.

River is coming off an impressive 41-7 waxing of Ohio 7 rival Shadyside last week and has won two straight after its lone loss at undefeated Barnesville. The Pilots are averaging 41.1 points an outing and are led by a running back-by-committee that features Brody Lollathin, Kaden Johnson, Finn Bowers and Ty Long. Quarterback Kabel Isaly runs the show and looks for River Thompson in the passing game.

The Zeps are scoring at a 35.4 clip and have also won two in a row since a week 5 setback at Union Local. They routed Monroe Central last week, 46-12.
