River Pilot boys take down Shenandoah Zeps, 10-1

SHENANDOAH — The Pilots enjoyed a banner day at the plate Monday, getting 10 hits and eight RBI in a rout vs. the Zeps.

Peyton Blue had two hits and two RBI, Colton Cisar drove in two more and Lucas Dennis, Kaden Hunt, Hunter Nething and Cooper Cisar each knocked in runs as well as River scored three runs in each of the third and fourth innings.

Dennis also stole two bases.

Hunt got the win on the mound, pitching five innings while surrendering no runs, one hit and one walk. Blue pitched the final two frames.

ELM GROVE — Wheeling Central exploded for six runs in the bottom of the first inning Monday night and never looked back in defeating visiting Weir, 11-5, on the Wheeling University diamond at the J.B. Chambers I-470 Complex.

Seth Cover singled twice and plated three runs for the Maroon Knights. Kade Koroneos had two singles and a pair of RBI while Koy Lipinski doubled in two runs and Hunter Mueller singled in a pair. Zayne Rosmick also had an RBI double.

Landon Prager earned the mound win with four strikeouts and two base on balls.
