35th wedding anniversary: Sorge

MARTINS FERRY-George and Emma Sorge will celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary on June 9. They were united in marriage at St. John Lutheran Church, Martins Ferry, with Rev. Paul Heist officiating. Sorge, the son of the late Pierson and Freda Sorge, is employed at Ohio Valley Medical Center. His wife, Emma is employed by the City of Martins Ferry as a meter maid. She is the daughter of the late Charles and Wilma Tice. They are the parents of a son, George (Amie) of Galloway, Ohio. They celebrated the occasion with a family dinner.

50th wedding anniversary: Helms

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Helms of Shadyside are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today, June 8. Helms is the son of the late Lloyd and Florence Helms. His wife, Janice, is the daughter of the late Mary Loos and James Bulger. The couple of two children, Kelly (Jim) Amato of Shadyside and Scott of Shadyside and have four grandchildren: Jimmy of Hamilton, N.Y., Eric, Adam and Karlie Amato. They celebrated their anniversary at a joint party with their grandson, Adam, celebrating his graduation.

50th wedding anniversary: Fisher

Jerry and Donna Fisher of Bellaire celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 14. They were united in marriage June 14, 1958 at St. Joe by the Rev. Robert Eddy. Fisher is the son of the late Louis (Bud) and Nettie Fisher of Bellaire and is retired from First Energy Corporation. His wife, Donna, is the daughter of the late Edward and Kathryn Brewer. The couple has four children: Tamara (Archie) Angus of Bellaire; Jerry Jr. (Kristy) Fisher of Calcutta; Lou (Jacque) Fisher of Bellaire; and Dawna (Paul) Westlake of Bellaire. Carl and Marjorie Foster of 39075 Old State Route 147, Bethesda, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today, June 15. They were united in marriage at an open church ceremony in the South Main Street Church of Christ, Bethesda with the late J.V.A. Traylor officiating. Foster is the son of the late Fred and Edna Stonebraker Foster. He is retired from Consolidation Coal Co. analytical department. Mr. & Mrs. Dan Conley are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary today, June 22. They were united in marriage June 22, 1968 at the Morristown Methodist Church in Morristown. Conley is the son of the late Vincent (Pete) and Virginia Conley. His wife Janice is the daughter of Clarence (Doc) Saffell and the late Doris Saffell. They are the parents of one son, Arick (Laura) and grandparents of twin grandsons, Kyle and Keith and a granddaughter, Katie of Gaithersburg, Md. Harold Campbell of St. Clairsville celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, June 19.Harold is the son of the late Sadie and Wallace Campbell and his wife, Edna, is the daughter of the late Helen and W.
