Seamon still in stride at age 77

WHEELING - Walter Seamon is a running marvel. His running prowess is so adept that even Father Time can’t catch him. The lifelong Wheeling resident is currently winding down his training for the Boston Marathon, an event he knows quite well. When Seamon toes the starting line in Beantown on April 16 it will mark the 19th time he has competed in the Cadillac of road races. Welcome to the team, Andrew Chlon. That must have been the reaction last week at the Oglebay Resort Intercollegiate Golf Tournament that was shortened to one day because of inclement weather. Making his debut as a Wheeling Jesuit Cardinal, former Martins Ferry standout Andrew Chlon was impressive. He actually claimed the co-medalist honor in the event with a round of 1-under 70. OVAC is still going strong as it hits 75 years

WHEELING - High school sports play big in the Ohio Valley lifestyle. To that end, the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference is the vehicle that drives prep athletics. The OVAC is comprised of 51 schools, encompassing more than 18,000 students. Tuesday marks a special day for the OVAC -- it is the 75th birthday for the nation's largest functioning conference. Cadiz native Gladman enjoys NASCAR life

DAYTONA -- Kevin Gladman is living in the fast lane. Literally. The Cadiz native is member of the Richard Childress Racing Team on the NASCAR circuit. More specifically, he is a mechanic for Austin Dillon. Dillon reached the pinnacle of his profession when he won the Daytona 500 last month. The race kicks off the circuit's season and is NASCAR'S Super Bowl. Gladman, age 28, was a big part of that.
