Jefferson crash kills Toronto man
TORONTO — One man is dead after a motor vehicle accident in Jefferson County, according to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred early Wednesday morning on County Road 68 in Saline Township. According to information provided by the OSHP, 24-year-old Jason Yeager of Toronto was driving a 2002 Ford Expedition on County Road 68 when he failed to negotiate a curve.
The vehicle left the road on the left side before striking a tree. Yeager was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews.
Yeager was the only occupant of the vehicle. The patrol said he was not wearing his safety belt at the time of the accident, and troopers believe alcohol may have been a factor.
The patrol is still investigating the circumstances behind the crash.
