Belmont County Tourism Council names new director

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Belmont County Tourism Council Board of Directors announced the appointment of Jackee Pugh as executive director.

Pugh will succeed Barb Ballint, who is retiring at year end.

“Pugh is a positive and energetic leader with strong credentials,” Ballint said. “I am confident that she is the right person to continue moving our organization forward. Her extensive marketing background and collaborative spirit will help further increase the economic impact through tourism in Belmont County.”

As executive director, Pugh will be responsible for the promotion of recreational, cultural and tourism-related development in the county.

“Belmont County is a great place to live, and there is an abundance of attractions and events that bring visitors into our area. People like it here because of the relaxing and friendly atmosphere, and I can’t wait to help showcase that and all the county has to offer,” Pugh said.

Pugh’s career experience includes a diverse background of corporate, agency and nonprofit marketing. She has led national advertising campaigns, branded products for Fortune 500 companies and been recognized with industry awards.

“As the incoming executive director, I am excited to bring my creativity, work ethic and experience to lead the Belmont County Tourism office. I am grateful for the opportunity and appreciate the support of the board of directors. I am proud to be a part of this team and look forward to all the great things we are going to accomplish together promoting Belmont County,” Pugh said.

Born and raised in St. Clairsville, Pugh moved away to attend Columbus College of Art and Design, where she received a bachelor of fine arts degree. After graduating, she lived and worked in Columbus for almost a decade before moving back to Belmont County to raise her family. She resides in St. Clairsville with her daughter, Paige.
