Pro-Strickland

Dear Editor

Election season brings phone calls, unwanted calls for many. I am apparently not the norm because I welcome them if there is a human on the other end. Today was one of the best calls ever.

I received a call from college Republicans urging me to listen to a previously recorded message from Newt Gingrich, with a one question pole to answer afterward.

Newt’s recording was the old line message Obama/Pelosi turning America socialist, and the tea party will set it straight. His examples of course were nationalizing the auto industry and banking, failing to mention GM’s return to profitability and upcoming stock offering or the many bank pay backs.

After the recording the questionable college republican came back on the line and ask if I was ready and supportive of the Republican Tea Party take over of Congress. I said “I sure as hell hope not”. His response, “Oh, you are not a republican”. I told him I had been in the past, but with all the information available today, it is just to easy to fact check most anything in commercials.

If Christine O’Donnell says she is not a witch, I will take her word for it, but it’s just to easy to fact check and see that she has no real knowledge about anything else she speaks about.

When I asked if he was a volunteer or was paid and did he believe the point of view he represented, he said “some of it” and “I get paid some” As a volunteer myself I know how hard it is to counter the fake poles, robocalls, dark and scary tv commercials, and fox not-so news. I think it is worth at least as much time and effort checking for facts and voting as it is supporting your favorite sports team or dancing with the stars.

Please vote for the Strickland team, I don’t want to go back in the ditch.
