Trump: Would-be autocrat

Dear Editor,

In the recently released best-selling book “Peril” by iconic investigative journalists Bob Woodward and Robert Costa, it is revealed that U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley, as well undoubtedly did numerous others, considered that then-President Donald J. Trump had experienced a “serious mental decline” following his sound defeat in the 2020 presidential election, and that he (Milley) was fearful that Trump would “go rogue” and perhaps launch a nuclear attack on China in order to remain in power.

Although such allegations are indeed quite shocking and troubling, they are quite possible when considering Trump’s rhetoric and actions at that particular time, as well as throughout his presidency.

And yet the extreme egotist and narcissist Trump continues to this day to, irrationally, promote the “Big Lie” that incredibly the most recent presidential election was somehow rigged against him with absolutely no such substantiation whatsoever, following numerous state election audits and court cases, which have been funded by the American taxpayers, that led the nonpartisan Federal Election Commission to conclude that the 2020 presidential election was, unquestionably, the “most honest and verifiable election in U.S. history.”

But still these false, and malicious, claims continue.

Therefore, it is without question that Joe Biden in fact is the undisputed victor of the most recent presidential election, defeating Mr. Trump by over 7 million popular votes and by 74 (306-232) votes in the Electoral College, a veritable landslide of historic proportions.

Recall also, that Mr. Trump, who has long seemingly had quite an aversion to reality, when such is not to his liking, that during his tenure in the White House that then President Trump was documented to have made a staggering number of 30,373 false or misleading statements (lies), and is obviously continuing on this pernicious path in order to adversely change the perception of reality of the American people to support his self-manufactured and self-serving “reality” for his own self-interests.

President Trump and his minions have certainly placed our nation’s status as the unquestioned leader of democracy at stake, by also belittling our nation’s most sacred and trusted public institutions, as well as the media, and is also actively involved in the suppression of public voting on a large scale nationally and as a result, is placing our great nation at risk of facing a constitutional crisis the likes of which has not been experienced since the American Civil War in our long and storied history.

Our nation’s great foreign adversaries, including Trump’s “mutual admirers” Vladimir Putin of Russia and Kim Jong Un of North Korea, as well as many others, are undoubtedly rejoicing as a result of the multitude of challenges we, as a nation, domestically, rarely if ever have faced, but do so now as a result of the would-be autocrat Donald J. Trump.
