July 4th

Dear Editor,

With 2022’s “Fourth of July” in the rearview mirror, historical perspective remains vital to going forward.

John Adams’ expected “the Fourth” to be celebrated as a religious holiday in times such as ours, and so it is for those who define religion as “the authority or authorities one consults to define and answer questions of ultimate importance.”-Job 34:12-15, Ps 2:1-12, RSV

The request addressed to the Supreme Judge of the world (Jn 5:22-23) by the founders to sanction the founding of this nation with inalienable rights for the individual, the smallest minority, remains unique in the world. These inviolable rights of “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness” — defined as cultivating the virtue necessary for the existence of a republic under the Triune God as well as accruing physical and intellectual property — incur God’s judgment when willfully annulled.

Amazingly, the Godhead in Jesus the Christ’s body of flesh endured the hostility of sinners like us rendering judgment through his death in order to portray his authority in love perfected through suffering.-Mt 27:17-44, Jn 19:30, I Jn 4:14-18, Heb 2:10, Rom 5:1-11

This is the understanding that enabled the Apostle Paul to instruct slaves in Titus 2:9-10 to wit: “Bid slaves to give satisfaction in every respect; they are not to be refractory, nor to pilfer, but to show entire and true fidelity, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.”-Jn 1:9-10, Heb 2:9-10, Eph 1:9-10

Jesus the Christ vindicated the Godhead on Golgotha by not abandoning the cross.-Mt 26:53, Isa 52:13-15, 50:6-11 History records that slaves and their enslavers may be of any race or sex or religion with the greatest slave nations being socialist in nature–a mid-19th century construct adapted by fascists, communists and secular progressives to counter free enterprise to this very day.

The New York Times ‘1619 Project’ clearly knows nothing about history or the mercy of the Supreme Judge of the world in its promotion of a false interpretation of the founding of this nation.-Lk 23:34, Js 2:8, 12-13

The damage it is doing by spewing such lies contributes mightily to the nation’s current murderous, slave-minded turmoil that would destroy the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and free enterprise — the very pillars that define “the land of the free and the home of the brave!” History records the painful steps this nation traveled to realize the blessings of our founding for everyone who exercises the responsibility necessary to well-being that is now irresponsibly, progressively and ignorantly being repudiated. As Jesus the Christ counseled in Jn 7:24, “Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment … since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” as proclaimed by the Apostle Paul in Rom 3:23.
