Willow Grove Mine Memorial Service

Dear Editor, The United Mine Workers of America recently held a memorial service at the Willow Grove Mine site in Neffs, Ohio, to honor 72 miners who lost their lives in an explosion on March 16, 1940. On behalf of the UMWA I would like to extend my sincerest appreciation to all who supported us in making the event possible. No one is ever really gone unless we forget them. Rick Altman UMWA International Vice President District 31

Health Dictatorship

Dear Editor, As we watch more and more insidious and amoral activity happen within this country, there is one event on the horizon that many within the United States have little or no knowledge of. Let me lay the groundwork for you. First, there were two globalist meetings in Jan. 2023 (The WHO International Health Regulations Review Committee, IHRRC, and the WEF Annual Meeting) that submitted proposals (proposed International Health Regulations—called IHRs or global laws) to be voted on at the WHO Assembly meeting May 21-30. The IHRs are designed, if passed by a simple majority ...

Saving the planet

Dear Editor, If the Earth has environmental toxic termination in about “ten years” (per experts ?) the American government regulators and the “New World Order” (whatever that is, and who’s in charge?) should address our eminent demise. Well, maybe those entities will be survivors? If this is serious, the governments worldwide should regulate commercial packaging. Our non-recyclable packaging, and even those that are recycled are crazy overkill. I’ve had to go to the emergency room for stitches for just trying to open a plastic encasement of an electric razor from ...

Democrat policies criticized

Dear Editor, I really, really hope you Democrats are happy with yourselves! Open borders allowing millions of illegals to enter and be released inside our borders, with court dates ranging from five to nine years to join the millions of dreamers already here. Democrats are trying to give them all amnesty so they all vote Democrat! Because of the influx of illegals, border patrol agents cannot do their jobs, which allows the cartels to import enough fentanyl to kill every American. Right now there are at least 2 to 3 “hundred” Americans being killed every day from fentanyl ...

Triumph from ashes

Dear Editor, It was with great sadness that I heard about the fire destroying the American Legion in Glencoe. I was born and raised there and have been following with interest the recent developments. On behalf of the Kaplet family of Glencoe, I would like to state publicly how heartening it has been to see the outpouring of support for the people of this community. I am told there are fund-raising efforts being held in other communities to help in the cleanup and rebuilding. The Legion Hall was the heart of the community when I lived there. And it was for many years ...

March is National Nutrition Month!

Dear Editor, “Kids in the Kitchen Fuel for the Future!” Each March, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics encourages Americans to focus on healthy eating habits. The Ohio Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program has chosen to use the theme: “Kids in the Kitchen Fuel the Future.” WIC Health Professional staff will provide recipes that use foods from the WIC food package to prepare healthy dishes. WIC clinics will be focusing education efforts on providing guidance to teach children age-appropriate kitchen activities to help prepare healthy dishes. Regardless of ...
