Local natural gas explosion marks anniversary

Dear Editor, February marks three years since the devastating explosion and blowout of a natural gas well in Belmont County, Ohio. XTO Energy, a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil, was responsible for this tragedy. Sixty-thousand tons of methane were emitted from this incident, (more than many European countries release in an entire year), marking it as one of the worst methane leaks in U.S. history. Dear Editor, I start these Letters to the Editors every year by saying, “another year has come and gone,” but I have to put in there that this has been the CRAZIEST year ever! Workers, residents appreciated

Dear Editor, We at the City administration wanted to recognize our city employees for the job they do for our citizens. As Mayor I must say that I am proud of our entire City workforce and our City Council for the way we have worked together, in this most difficult year as we labored together to take care of our citizens. In the past year we have hit many financial snags but with working with the 3 unions and the employees we have been able to overcome these issues and get a lot of things accomplished.
