SJC grad Doyle honored by Mountain East
St. John Central graduate Fallon Doyle put together an athletic resume that was highly impressive during her days with the Irish cross country and track programs.
She’s now off to a strong start in building a solid resume as a member of the Wheeling Jesuit cross country program.
Doyle was named Mountain East Conference Female Runner of the Week after an impressive showing at the Lehigh Paul Short Invitational last weekend.
Doyle, who was a four-time all-state runner for the Irish, toured the 6K course in 23:08, which is her personal best time.
Wheeling Park grad Albert Schrimp is also enjoying a fine season with the Cardinals. He was named men’s MEC Runner of the Week after posting a 25:45 in the 8K race, which was a personal best mark by 50 seconds.
Wheeling Jesuit’s CC teams are in action again on Saturday, taking part at the Slippery Rock Mack Cooper Invitational.
DIVISION I – FBS
NAJEE MURRAY, Kent State – Steubenville High product had two tackles and a pass breakup in a win against Miami of Ohio last week.
SHAQ PETTEWAY, West Virginia – Steubenville graduate recorded five tackles and a sack in the Mountaineers’ loss at Oklahoma.
CONNOR ARLIA, Kent State – Madonna product saw time in the Golden Flashes victory, but didn’t record a catch.
DIVISION I – FCS
AKIL BLOUNT, Florida A&M – Linsly School product recorded six tackles in a loss to Savannah State last week.
MARK DODD, Lafayette – Linsly School grad posted four tackles in his team’s loss to Fordham.

MATT KINNICK, West Virginia State – St. Clairsville product completed 21-of-38 passes for 336 yards and three touchdowns in a come-from-behind win against UVA-Wise.
TANNER WRIGHT, Glenville State – The River High graduate punted four times for a 37.8 yard average in the Pioneers’ victory against Notre Dame College.
COREY ERNEST, West Liberty – St. Clairsville graduate started once again at left guard in the Hilltoppers’ victory.
MIKE BERARDI, West Liberty – John Marshall graduate started at left tackle in the Hilltoppers’ win.
MARCUS SCHUMACHER, West Liberty – Monroe Central product was charted for one tackle in the ‘Toppers victory last week.
DAREE GOODWIN, West Liberty – Wheeling Park product caught three passes for 18 yards, but did find the end zone once.
STEPHEN ROGALSKI, West Virginia Wesleyan – Magnolia grad caught one pass for 10 yards in his team’s loss to West Liberty.
ZACH PHILLIPS, Gannon – Wheeling Park product rushed three times for 15 yards in a loss to Slippery Rock.
GEREMY PAIGE, Gannon – Wheeling Park product played in his team’s loss to Slippery Rock.

DALTON SECHREST, Marietta – Beallsville High graduate posted two tackles in a win against Wilmington.
JONATHAN CARLIER, Waynesburg – Martins Ferry product had four tackles in a win over Grove City last weekend.
LESHAWN LUKE, Mt. Union – Steubenville product had seven tackles, including one for loss in last week’s win against Capital.
DASHON REDMAN, Mt. Union – Steubenville graduate had two tackles in last week’s win against Capital.
MIKE FURDA, Mt. Union – Indian Creek product had four tackles in last week’s win.
JACOB CLARK, Muskingum – Shadyside graduate started again along the offensive line in the Muskies’ loss to Baldwin-Wallace.

TARA TOLLETT, Ohio – Shadyside High graduate finished 22nd in the all-Ohio Championship last weekend at Cedarville.
ANDY THORNBURG, UNC-Asheville – St. Clairsville grad had his meet last week cancelled because of the torrential rain that hit the east coast last weekend.
LEAH FIGURSKI, West Liberty – Former Buckeye Local standout finished 10th at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational in a time of 20:47.
JAMIE TRUCHAN, West Liberty – Martins Ferry product finished 21st overall at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational.
FRANK KAMAREC, West Liberty – Indian Creek graduate finished 32nd overall in 31:25 at the W&J Invitational.
GOLF
ADAM JEFFRIES, Alderson-Broaddus – St. Clairsville grad was the medalist after winning a four-hole playoff at the A-B Men’s Fall Invitational held at the Stonewall Resort. Jeffries carded rounds of 81 and rallied back with a 73 to get into the playoff.
SETH VANNOY, Alderson-Broaddus – St. Clairsville grad placed eighth at the A-B Men’s Fall Invitational with a two-day score of 164.
MEN’S SOCCER
ZACH OLIVER, Thiel – St. Clairsville grad posted an assist in the Tomcats’ tie with St. Francis on Wednesday night.
