BRILLIANT AMERICAN Legion has added shrimp to their First Friday Fish Fry menu beginning on Friday, Feb. 1. There will be Shrimp Dinners and Shrimp Baskets. The shrimp is a welcome addition to the menu that includes a choice of battered or Coleman’s Breaded Fish Sandwiches and Fish Dinners and Chicken Tenders. Dinners come with bread, French fries and Cole slaw. Orders can be called in to 740-598-3515. Limited delivery will be available. The Brilliant American Legion hosts a Fish Fry on the first Friday of each month from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

PRIOR TO the Ohio Valley Civil War Roundtable’s Jan. 28 meeting, Jeanne Finstein will address the group. Her talk, Five Wheeling Men and Their Pre-Civil War Efforts, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday inside the Ohio County Public Library’s auditorium. OHIO SMALL Business Development Center is offering a free class “Facebook for Business” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Barnesville Hospital South Annex Building. Teri Clapper, owner of Merit Marketing Services of Zanesville, will present tips on understanding business account settings, setting up administrators, engagement strategy, importance of increasing likes and shares, and converting fans into paying customers. ALS COMMUNITY Connection group has formed in Wheeling. Sara M. Hoten, Care Services manager for the ALS Association in West Virginia, leads the group. They meet every other month at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church at 1409 Chapline St. Free parking is available in the church parking lot. Information about health care services, occupational therapy, assistive devices, as well as social challenges will be discussed. Guest speakers may include speech pathologists, neurologists, DME providers, or respiratory specialists. Anyone diagnosed with or concerned about ALS is encouraged to attend. Wheeling is the third West Virginia site for the group meetings, joining the Charleston and Huntington communities. The next ALS Community Connection group will meet in Wheeling at 5:30 p.m. March 20 at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1409 Chapline St, Wheeling.

BELLAIRE SENIORS are sponsoring a trip to Myrtle Beach on March 24-30. This is a show trip including a day in Charleston, South Carolina. Highlights include five shows, a visit to Barefoot Landing and Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. The trip concludes with a harbor cruise in Charleston. There is a cost; call Sue Vavrek at 740-671-9411.
