Bel-O-Mar seeks to revise construction plans

WHEELING — Bel-O-Mar Regional Council is proposing to revise the Fiscal Year 2024 – FY2027 Transportation Improvement Program.

Fiscal year programming is on a July 1 basis with FY2024 beginning July 1, 2023.

Projects must be included in the local TIP and the state TIP to be eligible for federal funding. Bel-O-Mar is currently accepting public comments regarding the projects described below.

As requested by the Ohio Department of Transportation, the following projects will be revised:

∫ Ohio 7 (PID #106237) at Milepost 19.75 cost will have a detailed design phase added.

The revised cost is $31,438,000.

∫ An Interstate 70/Ohio 149 Interchange Project (PID #120547) to improve the traffic flow will be added for FY 2025. The cost of the project is $31 million.

∫ Belomar is adding a project to program $35,000 of STBG funds for planning to support the

Long Range Plan Update.

As requested by East Ohio Regional Transit Authority, the following projects will be added for FY 2024:

∫ Dump bed for service truck costing $25,000.

∫ Building generator costing $100,000.

∫ Stop announcement equipment costing $100,000.

As requested by West Virginia Department of Transportation, the I-470 Bridge project (State Project Number #S335-470-0.13) which is 0.01 miles east of Ohio state line will be revised: the construction phase has been updated. The revised cost will be $36,050,000.

A public comment period regarding the proposed Transportation Improvement Program revision extends through Feb. 14.
