National priorities are skewed

Dear Editor, So this past week the Chinese sent a hypersonic missile around the world. This seems impossible! The Chinese are only earning advanced mathematics, science and technology degrees. Why aren’t they striving like us for those highly sought after gender studies and diversity diplomas? It’s impossible to imagine how they achieved this without being triggered, having safe spaces, speech codes, and gender specific restrooms. Seriously? Union Local soccer team commended

Dear Editor, I attend a soccer game on Oct. 12 between Union Local and St. Clairsville. I am the proud grandfather of one of St. Clairsville’s players. However, it is not that team that I write about today. As they both took the field, I noticed that Union Local had 10 players, which is exactly how many players to put on the field for a soccer game. My first impression was that they were going to get exhausted pretty quickly. What I witnessed both surprised and impressed me. Dear Editor, The last two weekend Times Leader editions’ ‘Letters to the Editor’ contained Biden praise and contempt for Trump. The most recent issue also had electoral topics and criticism of the “Opinion” page. Most recognize the balance this publication tries to present in all regards. It is as diverse as its subscribers. Support for the library levy renewal!

Dear Editor, The library is a huge part of my family’s life. We are all avid readers and utilize a lot of the programs, as well. My kids have used the computers, for homework and to play games. My oldest has participated in the after school program for middle schoolers, she really enjoyed that. We have utilized story time, art programs, science programs, music programs and have checked out numerous books. I have really loved having the ability to get ebooks via the libby app as well as hoopla with my library card. It has saved me thousands of dollars this year alone. Using the library ...

Dear Editor, I got my first library card when I was about 10 years old. In each place that I’ve lived, I have always had the privilege of having a library card at my local public library. Upon returning to my hometown of St. Clairsville, I made sure to update my card pretty much immediately. As a book lover and a parent, it was the natural choice for me to sign my 9 month old daughter up for Mother Goose Story Time.
