Area players named to D3, D4 all-state teams

COLUMBUS — Union Local’s Lauren Miller was named first team all-state in Division III, while River’s Kelsey Harlan was named second team in Division IV.

Miller led the Jets to the Eastern District finals where they lost to Fort Frye. The 5-8 senior averaged a team-best 19 points a game this season.

Sophomore teammate Lakyn Vinskovich earned Division III special mention, as did Buckeye Local senior Brynn McKeever and Bellaire junior Zara Harveth.

Earning honorable mention were Buckeye Local’s Pam Kandrach; Bellaire’s Eliana Mason; Barnesville’s Ellie Thompson; Edison’s Soia Henderson; and Buckeye Trail’s Myah Frederick.

In Division IV, Steubenville Catholic’s Anna Arai; Frontier’s Grace Knowlton; Monroe Centreal’s Riley Bettinger; Toronto’s Ashton Thomas; and Caldwell’s Katie Franklin all earned special mention.

Receiving honorable mention were Steubenville Catholic’s Ella Maragos; Monroe Central’s Mayzie Emery; River’s Reese Hobbs; Beallsville’s Kinley Hughes; Frontier’s Morgan Haught; and Shenandoah’s Brylee May.
