Russell and Wilma Hall of St. Clairsville will celebrate their 74th wedding anniversary on Aug. 8. They were united in marriage on Aug. 8, 1942, in St. Clairsville. Wilma is the daughter of Mark and Clara Passmore and past owner of the Corner Deli in St. Clairsville. Russ is the son of Charles and Helen Hall and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was superintendent of St. Clairsville Light and Power before he retired from Consolidation Coal Co. Gazdiks celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Stephen and Kathleen Gazdik of Barton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 20. They were united in marriage at St. Casimir’s Church in Adena on Aug. 20, 1966, with the late Rev. Edward Kakasick. Kathy is the daughter of the late Paul and Kay Gunsorek of Adena, and Stephen is the son of the late Steve and Anna Gazdik of Bridgeport. Frys celebrate 65th wedding anniversary

Robert (Bob) and Mignonne Fry celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Aug. 18. They were married Aug. 18, 1951, in Crowder, Miss., at the home of the bride. They are the parents of three children: Daniel (Jacque) of Martins Ferry, Mark (Sally) of St. Clairsville, and Vanna of Wheeling. They have six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Woods is the son of Edith Woods of Farmington and the late Wallace Woods. He is a retired machinist from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Yorkville Plant. Joseph and Betty Stemkowski will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Sept. 12. They were married on Sept. 12, 1942. They have four children, Joe Jr., Betty Ann Banfield and her husband Russ, and Frances Hartman, all of St. Clairsville, and Mary Elizabeth Maziek of San Antonio, Texas. They have four grandchildren, David, Tony, Joe and Janel. They also have two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Rylie. MARTINS FERRY — Harry and Fran Sykes celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 7. They were united in marriage in 1957 in Martins Ferry First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Robert Clark officiating. They have been members of the church for their entire marriage.
