Dear Editor, Jesus made it abundantly clear that there is no way to heaven except through Him. The issue is settled. It’s not arrogance. It’s truth. Dear Editor, As a result of a number of recent Republican primary elections that perhaps indicate at long last the influence that former President Donald J. Trump has on his most recent political party (Republican) may well be on the wane. Dear Editor, With lockdown policies in place and repeatedly practiced, an unsecured door in the Uvalde, Texas, middle school led to horrific slaughter. This a graphic reminder of Texas’ unsecured border allowing a “peaceful but illegal invasion of this nation by unvetted individuals” while immigration laws are in place defining an orderly, lawful process. Dear Editor, A very bloody war — without purpose — is being waged in Ukraine. Just consider the toll this nonsensical war is having: ∫ At least 20 thousand dead. ∫ Tens of thousands injured. ∫ 15 million homes destroyed. ∫ 40 percent of Ukraine’s infrastructure destroyed. ∫ Russia’s economy in severe depression. ∫ Fuel prices soaring and seemingly out of control. ∫ The U.S. suffering its worst inflation in 50 years. ∫ World wide food supply threatened. ∫ Nuclear war (that would kill hundreds of millions) is being bandied about like this is ...

Deja vu, all over again

Dear Editor, Columbine, Sandy Hook, Parkland, and now Uvalde. Not to name the many others. Our future, our beautiful young children are being slaughtered in their schools while our politicians, namely the Senate, does nothing. They call themselves the world’s greatest legislative body. I call them, and it is almost entirely the Republicans, gutless cowards who care only for maintaining their power. Dear Editor, For pro basketball icon LeBron James, the recently completed 2021-2022 National Basketball Association season statistically was quite possibly perhaps the best for any player, playing in their 19th season, as was LeBron, who averaged a most impressive 37.2 minutes, 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.3 stats, and 1.1 blocked shots, as did LeBron in the 56 games he played in his team’s, the Los Angeles Lakers, 82 games in the regular season.
