Suffer little children

Dear Editor, According to the American Civil Liberties Union 545 is how many children have been separated from their families by U.S. border officials in 2017 and 2018 and that still (as of Oct. 20) haven’t made contact with their parents. Separating — ripping from their parents arms — a child (many under 5) from their family are crimes of kidnapping and child abuse. And then in maintaining the children in cages is worse than a crime, it is evil. OSU working with survivors

Dear Editor, A recent editorial about sexual abuse by former Ohio State doctor Richard Strauss failed to mention that the university has reached settlement agreements with 185 survivors totaling $46.7 million. No taxpayer, tuition or restricted donor funds are utilized for these settlements, and the university continues to participate in good faith in the mediation process with the survivors involved in the remaining lawsuits. Dear Editor, With respect to the recent article on the opinion page in The Times Leader on Sept. 6 by former Belmont County Republican GOP chairman Chris Gagin, who was reaching out to his MAGA friends regarding “How do I explain Trump’s America to my daughter?” I would like to help! Open Sand Hill

Dear Editor, It is becoming increasingly frustrating dealing with the closure of Sand Hill Road (County Road 4). This has been going on since late summer of last year. First there was a traffic light at the slip which was fine. Now however, the road has been completely closed since March. I feel this entirely unacceptable for a county connector road (Ohio 149 to 147) to be closed this long. To get to St. Clairsville is now 20 minutes or better out of the way, leaving a lot of us to shop in Wheeling or Moundsville instead.
