St. Clairsville’s Thoburn named to Division II all-state second team
COLUMBUS – St. Clairsville’s Cole Thoburn capped his stellar career by being named to the Ohio Division II all-state second team on Thursday.
The 5-10 senior averaged 23.3 points a game for the Red Devils this past season. He also surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career and became the Red Devils all-time leader in made three-point field goals.
Warren Local’s Trent Taylor also made second team, while teammate Julian Stadelman was third team.
Earning special mention were St. Clairsville junior Tyson Pastor; Steubenville freshman Santino Haney; East Liverpool’s Preston Kerr and New Philadelphia’s Colton Slaughter.
Honorable mention listees included Steubenville’s Keith Lewis; Cambridge’s Jesiah Barnett; Buckeye Local’s Gavyn Romanyak; Beaver Local’s Austin Cline; and Marietta’s Zaiden Wittekind.
